Siti Shorgayah joined the Perinsuran Brokar Board of Directors in 2016. Siti began her career in the financial sector in 1988 when she joined Bank Utama (M) Bhd (now known as RHB Bank Berhad) as a graduate trainee, before being promoted to Credit Officer after six months.
In 1993, she was one of two people selected from the Banking sector in Malaysia to be seconded to the Steering Committee responsible for Sarawak’s formation of the State Unit Trust Scheme, Amanah Saham Sarawak Berhad.
After training with Amanah Saham Johor, Siti was fully involved from the outset in the setting up the Management Company. In 2001 she became Manager, Operations and Marketing with a brief to oversee the daily operations of the Unit and to solicit sales from retail, high net-worth clients and institutions.
In August 2004, she was seconded to the Group’s subsidiary, Permodalan Assar Sdn Bhd where she was responsible for the group’s Communications and Administration.
In June 2005, she was transferred back to the Management Company and was appointed Head of Corporate Marketing, Sales and Operations as well as to the Management executive committee. Responsibilities included developing marketing strategies and executing the plans with the aim to increase the Fund’s overall market share.
She resigned from Amanah Saham Sarawak Berhad in 2008 to pursue her personal ambitions to contribute something back to the community.
Siti has a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Banking from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA.
